No one enjoyed legal immunity in any government except certain immunities the President of the country is entitled to as per the constitution. All parliamentarians enjoyed and will continue to enjoy a degree of immunity for utterances made within the well of the parliament. So we now need to educate our citizens to analytically about what our beloved politicians say rather than been blindly impressed with rhetoric at times. If there were intances, name them please?

Earlier it was sometimes the song: Neelai, Kamlai Champai Rekhai Banumathi.... but hope it's gonna be much better and hunt down actual thieves and actual perpetrator/s. That immunity needed for genuine representatives in opposition and ruling party.

Is that so? Then how come a corrupt individual has been appointed as the Minister of Airport and Aviation? Is everyone blind?

Current Minister is Bimal Rathnayake. Did not know he was corrupt. Are you referring to former one infamous Nimal Siripala ?

Yes indeed. Mount Lavinia courts issued an order to arrest Wasantha Samarasinha and Mahinda Jayasingha as they didn't appear in the courts over their action of making money over another's property. They are still at large and will be.

When changing the Constitution, as promised, please include background checks for all Ministers at least. No convicted Criminals should be allowed to become a Minister of the state. Confirmation hearings as in the US perhaps.
