The Election Commission reports that 5.65% of the votes cast were rejected at the 2024 General Elections.
Out of 11,815,246 votes cast, 667,240 were invalid, according to the Commission.
“This is a rise from the 2020 General Elections, where 4.58% of votes were rejected. Voter turnout also dropped to 68.93% in 2024, compared to 75.89% in 2020,” it pointed out.
“At the 2024 Presidential Election, only 2.2% of the votes cast were rejected, showing better voter participation and fewer errors,” it added.
