Post-mortem reveals cause of death in triple murder case

The post-mortem examinations of the three bodies found in a two-storied house in Sinhapura, Chilaw has revealed that it was a case of double murder followed by suicide.

The examination was conducted at the Chilaw General Hospital by Forensic Medical Officer Ilangaratne Banda, who concluded that the two women had been killed, while the father died by jumping into the fire.

The tragic incident involved three members of the same family, including a 15-year-old girl, who were found dead in a house fire. 

Initial investigations by the Chilaw Police focused on whether the deaths were the result of murder or suicide, with suspicion directed towards the deceased father. 

The post-mortem results confirmed the suspicions, establishing that it as a double murder and suicide.
