Colombo, September 17 (Daily Mirror) - President Ranil Wickremesinghe inaugurated a new vehicle assembly plant, the Western Automobile Assembly Private Limited (WAA), in Kuliyapitiya today.

The President's Media Division said that this state-of-the-art facility is expected to generate job opportunities, particularly for the country's youth, by equipping them with essential skills for sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.

Good to see the voters mentality. Regardless of how good it is, they want to complain. Doesn't matter who was President/PM when something was done. If its good, its good. This assembly plant is assembling vehicles for GWM and Foton. Together they are worth ~30 billion USD. Doubt they are building 'half-baked factories' and 'election gimmicks'. These projects have been spoken in the news since months ago. Maybe browse the web and find other news articles before commenting absolute 'bollocks'.

Not sure how attending a Private Company opening ceremony is providing campaign mileage, but go off. This assembly plant will still function even once the new President, who ever it is, comes. Please don't vote for Ranil just because of this. At the same time, be proud of our country being able to provide local graduates opportunities and exposure to work with massive car manufacturers. If it breaks election laws go complain to the EC. They have provided multiple contact numbers to report this. NO point of crying 'election gimmick' and 'campaign mileage' in the comments section.

Ranil merely completed Gota's Term by implementing drastic and unpopular measures to overcome the situation faced by the country due to declaration of 'Bankruptcy' Hence he couldn't have done much of his own to improve the Entrepreneurship or local productivity. Give him a fresh mandate as an independent candidate to leave a bench-mark for the future Presidents to follow.
