Revenue officer among two arrested for seeking chicken kilo as bribe



Two persons including an acting revenue officer of the Weweldeniya Sub Office attached to the Mirigama Pradeshiya Sabha were arrested by the Bribery Commission for accepting one kilo of chicken worth Rs. 1,170 as a bribe.

The Bribery Commission said that the suspects were arrested as they sought a bribe from a meat shop owner in Kosgama to review the  annual licence of the shop for the next year.

The suspects, including a field labourer of the Mirigama Pradeshiya Sabha were arrested near the meat shop and the suspects will be produced before the Attanagalle Magistrate's Court.
