Rohitha suspended from SLPP membership, other positions

Colombo, September 20 (Daily Mirror)- The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has suspended SLPP MP Rohitha Abeygunawardana from the SLPP membership and the post of national convenor.

In a letter to Abeygunawardana, the party's General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said he has supported another candidate at the Presidential election while going against the decision of the SLPP politburo.

Party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa has approved the decision to suspend MP Abeygunawardana from SLPP membership and all other positions in the party.

Necklace thief. Wonder why SLPP was holding on to such corrupted guys? They should have sacked such guys long time back. He doesn't deserve to be in Parliament as well n will not be elected again in the next General election. There are more party members who are backing Ranil fir the coming Prez Election instead of Namal. They too hv to be expelled from the party.

One of Ranil's gravest election mistakes to let this guy join him. Ranil keeps telling it's our duty not to vote in corrupt individuals to the Parliament but he welcomes them with open arms to boost his lust for power. How can Ranil convince the undecided voters he's going to be a just ruler with having people like this guy around?

Suspending Rohitha is OK as such a person with his history must not be in Parliament. The issue is there are many others who supported another candidate and none of them suspended. Why?
