Colombo, September 24 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will offer its full support, if the National People's Power (NPP) moves to abolish the Executive Presidency and change the electoral system, SLPP National Organiser Namal Rajapaksa said.
He told the media that although all the Presidents from 1994 till now had said they would abolish the Executive Presidency, no one has done so.
"The best time to abolish the Executive Presidency is now.
"Therefore, if there is a need to abolish the Executive Presidency, then do not delay," Namal Rajapaksa added.

Followers of NPP,please keep in your mind,it’s top places only for rajapakshas and you have to satisfy with what they allocate to you, badly defeated NPP nominee NR, selected as party candidate ,leaving more senior members such as PrassannaR,pavithra, ratharan rohitha and many, better join SJB its still have strong voter base

You still support these people portrays what kind of person you are. I didn't say you either support NPP. There are people who are rich and doesn't care about corruption at all because they don't have any issues with their daily lives it's the poorer who suffer always

We kindly ask you to follow Ranil Maama's example. It's never too late for you to apologize on behalf of the whole clan and the henchmen for ruining the country. While we're thankful to your elderly father for bringing the war to an end with the support of brave generals like Mr. Sarath Fonseka, the destruction caused by your party is equal only to an instance where a woman, who was saved by a man, was raped by her savior himself. You can forget about your support in any shape or form and leave the hard work of building the nation to more intelligent, capable, and selfless individuals.

Namal Rajapaksa ought to fully grasp that it was Ranil Wickremesinghe's tainted association with your faction that led to his dismal performance in the presidential election. The core essence of the Aragalaya movement resonated deeply with the masses, driven by a fervent anti-Rajapaksa sentiment. The outcome of this presidential election is a direct repudiation of the unparalleled corruption and abuses perpetrated by the entire government. For you and your associates, it is far too late—no remedy can salvage your situation, and there is no avenue left for escape. And most importantly here after no more abuse and corruption by any government in the future.

Already Rajapakshes' felt the gravity after the election and one fellow ran to USA and other idiot went to Nepal to hide themselves. Mina's days are counted and Namal will fly to Uganda.

Namal, your family has done the biggest damage to Sri Lanka. People died due to gas cylinder explosions, fainted and died in petrol and gas queues, sold their properties to feed the families, pawned jewellery to pay for essentials, withdrew fixed deposits to pay for essentials, failed exams because no money to pay electricity bills, lost jobs and had to do minor jobs or go abroad for low paid jobs, had to migrate due to no opportunities. All because of the RAJAPAKSA family who have drained our country to zero. So, please retire quietly and we will allow you to live peacefully.Let the country be governed by people who really care for the country.

We are surprised to know that you are still trying to talk, after obtaining only 3% of the votes in the Presidential election. Please keep your mouth shut, along with your failed family members because the voters have rejected you all as a corrupted family. Your comments are worthless. Get lost for ever.

Sri Lanka electoral system is poor. If you can Change like Swiss electoral system. They don't give whole power to the president or prime minister. They have federal cabinet system.

Hey Namal- with or without Rajapakse's support that will be accomplished by NPP. Hopefully, pensions for former President's will also would be abolished

MAAI Wednesday, 25 September 2024 03:33 PM
It is important to note that the SLPP and its predecessors have been in power for many years without taking these steps. This raises questions about the timing and urgency of your current position. We believe that before any discussions about abolishing the Executive Presidency take place, it is crucial to address the issue of corruption within the political system. Ensuring that corrupt politicians are held accountable and implementing a clean and transparent governance system should be the priority. Only then can we consider such significant changes.
