Sajith pledges to bring in era of common masses

Colombo, August 15 (Daily Mirror)- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) candidate Sajith Premadasa, who handed over nominations today to contest the Presidential election, pledged to bring in an era of the common masses.

"I promise to create an era of the common masses. I will create a situation where everyone in the nation can enjoy the benefits of development," he said.

"I appeal to the common masses to rally round me," he added.

Ranil and Sajith are two sides of the same coin. What difference they can make. Both are UNP members and Ranil does not want to work under Sajith for some social, political and other reasons. What can sajith do? all crooks are with him now. One by one all crooks are going behind these two people. NPP does not take them. So, if you want to see a real change and meaningful change try NPP for next 5 years.

If Sajith can replicate the prosperity his father, President R.Premadasa brought to Sri Lanka, starting with the common masses and projects like Gam Udawa, garment factories and export processing zones among many development projects; then it would be fantastic. Unfortunately, Sajith has not built a track record of doing anything and achieving goals in all these years.

Sri Lanka needs a leader with empathy, humility and moderation. And let the professionals do their job. Sajith is well suited for it as he's the only one who can (possibly, no guarantee) win the South and the North. None can do it other than him. Although Ranil became president after Aragalaya (appointed by Rajapaksas) most work of removing Gota from power was done by people in Sajith's party, particularly women.

A politician doesn't have to be an intellectual, but he and his team of advisors should come up with a better slogan when addressing the people who are supposed to vote for him! The more we hear from SP the more we know he is mentally deranged. The masses were for 70 years, living in an `era of common masses` - with zero hope of going above that line unless they migrate to whatever country overseas. He pledges to continue this, and that is his future plan for the common masses, while he will be self proclaimed `uthumano` (supreme leader) exactly like his late father did.
