Salary increase for CB officials: COPF approves investigation committee report recommendations

Parliament, June 19 (Daily Mirror)- The Committee on Public Finance (COPF) has approved the recommendations made by the committee appointed to look into the salary increases of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) employees, COPF Chief Harsha de Silva told Parliament today.

He said the committee had highlighted that the CBSL officials should have taken into consideration the situation of the country's economy before deciding on a salary increase and signing a collective agreement. The committee also recommended a salary increase based on meritocracy.

What about the massive increases of the salary of Central Bank staff? Is nothing being done about this. Why neglect the teachers and the non-academic university staff?
