Shooting incident reported at Lotus Tower last night

A shooting incident was reported at the Lotus Tower during a musical show last night, police said.

A private security officer associated with the musical group was injured in the shooting.

Details of the person or persons involved in the shooting have not yet been disclosed.

The injured security officer was admitted to the General Hospital, Colombo.

The Lotus Tower management stated that the injured individual was part of the musical event’s organising group and had no connection to the Tower’s management.

Why are people hating on Lotus Tower Management? It was an event Organisers employee that was injured by the security officer of the musical group that was hired by the said Organisers. Not sure how Lotus Tower management is at fault. They just rented out the space. And depending on the guests visiting the event at the space, Private Security officers are allowed as they are registered with the government. Hate on the organiser/Private security officer instead.

If you are a property that has public access, regardless who has a contract for an event, the lotus tower management has a legal obligation to ensure the visitor safety.
