Sri Lanka’s computer, digital literacy increase to 39%

The Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) reports that computer literacy in Sri Lanka has increased to 39% in 2023.

In its latest release on computer and digital literacy, the DCS reported that the country's Computer Literacy Rate stands at 39.0% and the Digital Literacy Rate at 63.5%. Additionally, 20.2% of households own either a desktop or laptop computer, with the urban sector demonstrating higher literacy in both computer and digital skills.

Regarding household computer ownership, at least one computer is available in 20.2% of households in the country, meaning one out of every five households owns either a desktop or a laptop. In the urban sector, this percentage is 34.0%, while the rural and estate sectors show 18.1%.

But overall intelligence still at 10% with people still going after rascals promising jobs overseas and collecting money to migrate overseas. See the amounts of scams daily - intelligent people will not get decived.

Even it increased to 75% -for most work, pass books, paper documents, standing in que for cash withdrawals, revenue licensing, utilities payments,tax paying etc. but for sharing garbage news(baseless goss) rumors- 101% fully digitized! Knowledge base- 0% correct me if I’m wrong!!! Example; neighborhood uncle complain on community FB group saying “I don’t get water bill anymore, only sms- how can us retire people act on digital information?” Response on the group- “ act in the same way you are admin in community FG groups- then you can access all the information “ - man doesn’t post that many good morning/evening messages or gossip now!

Does not matter about education, with the President and the Parliament misusing provisions or loopholes of the Constitution, the Constitution itself needs replacement, and that can only happen with revolution started in the streets.
