Suspect nabbed with 600,000 capsules of prescription drugs

Colombo, October 10 (Daily Mirror) - A 44-year-old person was arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police Special Task Force (STF) with 600,000 capsules of prescription drugs worth Rs. 60 million, suspected to be sold targeting the youth and school children.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Mannar.

Further investigations resulted in the seizure of a lorry used to peddle drugs in the Borella area.

The arrest was made based on information received by Naval Intelligence. The search operation was conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy in coordination with the Police STF.

The suspect, along with the capsules of prescription drugs and the lorry, was handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau, Colombo for onward legal action.

What is the punishment? Many lives saved from this arrest. If he is thrown in jail he will operate from the inside. If he walks free he will do the same. So then how do you deal with such criminals?

LOOKS LIKE THINGS ARE MOVING FAST. IT IS TIME TO HAVE SOME PHYCHOLOGISTS AND PSYCHIATRICTS GIVE SOME PUBLIC TALKS AND OR ON TV FOR THAT PEOPLE GET EDUCATED ON HOW DANGEROUS IT IS TO CONSUME ANY ILLEGAL DRUGS IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM AS IT IS AN ADDICTION THAT WILL DISTROY NOT ONLY YOUR HEALTH AND LIFE, BUT CAN BREAK UP MARIAGES/FAMILIES/RELATIONSHIPS.
