Train strike called off



Colombo, July 11 (Daily Mirror) - Following discussions with Transport Minister Bandula Gunawardana, the Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters' Union (SLRSMU) has decided to call off their ongoing train strike starting tonight.

Accordingly, the Minister informed the union officials that no disciplinary action will be taken against the officers who report for duty by midnight today.

The Minister said that if there are any officials who do not report to work, they will be dealt with suitably.

This discussion attended by Transport State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna as well, was held at the official residence of former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
