University non-academic staff calls off strike

Colombo, July 11 (Daily Mirror) - The university's non-academic employees have called off their ongoing strike after negotiating their demands and reaching an agreement with University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. Sampath Amarathunga.

Very good lesson to politically mptivated irresponsible workers. Most of this group of people does not have the ethical behaviour towards rheir expected services to the public. May all the public servants learn a valuable lrsson!!

What settlement it was only a discussion and the University Union knew the coming colours were not good as the government will break the necks of these unions with orders issued to send letters of vacated posts !!!
