Parliament, December 06 (Daily Mirror)- Sugath Wasantha de Silva who is visually impaired began his speech in Parliament thus becoming the first physically challenged MP to speak in Sri Lankan legislature in local political history.

Do you think world leaders would copy this president and elect a visually impaired person to become a member of parliament? His knowledge and experience is not the question here, but he needs someone else to accompany him wherever he goes. There's no braille system so far in the parliament. How does he refer to day to day documents in parliament? Can anybody please explain.

Great! I thought there was also a previously visually impaired minister who got caught taking a bribe from Japanese contractors working on the airport project, and who was always sleeping in Parliament?

I hope he could see the legislation before he votes on them. Do they have facilities for this person to be able to comprehend what he is raising his hand for. If not, there is no difference between this guy and any of the previous government MPs.
