Colombo, September 17 (Daily Mirror)- If you vote for either Sajith Premadasa or Namal Rajapaksa, it will ultimately help NPP candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, independent candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe said today.

Speaking during a rally in Minuwangoda, Wickremesinghe said people should vote intelligently at this year's Presidential election.

Don't believe what Ranil says. He is trying his tricks and fooling the voters. He knows he will lose the Election. He lost lost several n elections in the past and remember he went thru the back door and took over Presidenship without people's mandate and wanted to be on power by trying to postpone the Prez elections but couldn't do so in terms of the constitution. Expecting people to vote intelligently is a big ask. Everyone is quick to say those in power are corrupt and thieves but they conveniently forget the fact that it is they who vote them into power. 6.9m voted for a “strong leader” who had a catchy theme song and made unrealistic promises. Today they have forgotten the situation that they faced just two years ago when their “strong leader” and his “educated” advisors crashed the economy. Now we have another catchy tune and a bunch of crazy ideas.. Our intelligent voters will show the way once again.. it seems we are heading back but maybe that’s the only way to learn.
