Former Sri Lanka Cricket captain and former MP Arjuna Ranatunga has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Sports Council.

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has appointed Ranatunga to the new post which comprises of 15-members in the National Sports Council.

A good cricket captain. But a very poor cricket administrator. During his last tenure as head of cricket many respectable cricketers, who were serving in different capacities, have vacated positions and administration became a mess. Hope he wouldn't bring in his brothers this time around as he usually has been doing.
