Declaring several areas as high-security zones (HSZ) in Colombo is certainly not advisable, as it may pave the way for another uprising of the people as they are more stressed - physically and mentally, former President and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Maithripala Sirisena said.
Taking such decisions and pressurizing the people will induce the people to go against the government.
"With the pressure on people and everyone, including me, know how people are getting on with their lives these days with the current economic crisis," he said.
The government should have taken a decision to inform the public while relaxing them by showing the correct direction. The government should have explained to the people about what are the methods being adopted by them to ease the economic crisis while instructing state officials.
But the government is doing totally the opposite of what they should have done.
The former President claimed that both SWRD and Sirimavo Bandaranaike formed governments with progressive leftist parties and that they too followed the similar and mutually agreeable principles. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
