Dr. Prasanna Gunasena quits as SPC Chairman?
Chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC), Dr. Prasanna Gunasena has reportedly tended his resignation.
Informed sources told the Daily Mirror that Dr. Gunasena has handed over the letter of resignation to the President and it is yet to know whether the President accepted his letter or not.
According to sources, he has resigned from the post citing health and personal reasons.
Dr. Gunasena is a renowned neuro surgeon and has rendered a yoeman service in taking the lead to procure COVID-19 vaccines to Sri Lanka for the last months in his capacity as the SPC Chairman.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that SPC Managing Director Lalith Jayakody has also decided to resign from his position.(Sheain Fernandopulle)
