Drug peddler ’Abba’ shot dead
Notorious drug peddler Thelge Dilan Sameera Pieris, alias "Abba" was shot dead following a shooting incident in Moratuwa last night, the police said.
They said the 27-year-old suspect died during an operation conducted by the Special Task Force's organized crimes and narcotics preventive personnel at the Modara Isurusiri Mawatha area in the Egodauyana police area in Moratuwa.
During the operation, one suspect opened fire at an STF personnel. When the latter retaliated at the suspect and later found him dead as a result of the gunshot wounds re received, they said.
According to police, the suspect's body is currently lying at the Panadura Hospital.
