Functions permitted under quarantine curfew announced

The health Ministry has announced that all essential services such as health services and utility services should operate during the quarantine curfew period adhering to health guidelines.

Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardane said that persons engaged in permitted functions should be permitted to cross the boundaries.

He said religious gatherings, social gatherings, restaurant, hotels, guest houses, village fairs, tuition classes, sports festivals, cinemas and spas will not be permitted.

Okay to organize a wedding reception in an hotel and then cancel to score some Brownie points with public!! Can't believe why in first place the State Minister in charge of covid wants to have a gathering in the midst of a pandemic!!

Please make sure the Sri Lanka Telecommunications is also open and operating in every area as they do not send us the bills on time but our internet is cut off. How the hell do they expect us to pay if everything is closed and every person does not have facility of online payment.
