Govt. can do nothing about fluctuations in prices of certain goods: Dilan

SLPP MP Dilan Perera said today not only this government but any government could do nothing about fluctuations in prices of certain goods.

He told a news conference that fluctuations in prices of most goods were decided according to the fluctuations of prices in the World market.

He said prices of most goods such as fuel and medicine were decided by the prices in the World market.

MP Perera said it was true that there were issues for farmers, teachers and health officials and added that Covid was the main issue that we have faced today before all.

"We should understand the actual situation the world has faced today," he said.

He said the issue in Sri Lanka is the attitude problem and pointed out that however, during a pandemic situation, Gotabaya Rajapaksa Government was comparatively attempting to work while making an attitude change.

"What we need today is an attitude change. Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa is making that change in this year's budget. He is allocating funds by obtaining proposals from committees at village level. Gotabaya Rajapaksa is making a great effort to make an attitude change without big noise," he said.(Ajith Siriwardana)
