Husband arrested for wrestler-style slamming of his wife

A 34-year-old man was arrested yesterday for beating his wife (22) like a wrestler slams his opponent on the ring, the Moratuwa Police said.

They said the suspect was arrested for domestic violence.

The suspect cuddling his knees together and kept jumping on his wife laying her on bed and repeated the action.

The police said the husband was arrested based on a complaint received from his wife that he came home drunk and beaten her like a wrestler.

According to the police complaint, the suspect, yelling it was "wrestling" and suddenly jumped on the bed and slammed her squeezed her belly, chest and her face. The police said the woman made the complaint in fear of being killed at any moment.

The couple has two children, and the husband owns a business, police said.

The suspect is to be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrates and the police are conducting further investigations. (Rekha Tharangani-Moratuwa)

The persons who are intoxicated after consuming the alcoholic beverages are coming home drunk in the evening. So this is very frequent in the coastal belt where the number of people are dwelling in the slums. In the evening they are coming home like lions. Further they are shouting and quarrelsome.If the police can increase their routine patrols.We believe that there is a possibility to prevent the people from being engaged in these types of incidents

Problem with slums is the poverty and how men who suffer to earn look for any means to overcome the mental misery they go to earn. Wealthier a country is the less slums it has. And when the coastal areas people are much better materially compared to much better off middle class elsewhere these problems dissipate. Your suggestions for police patrolling around houses sounds like you want a police state. I suppose you can't image how extra corruption can happen to both the police and then extra-marital affairs with the additional patrolling?

This manner of disgusting behaviour and drunkenness needs the most severe punishment for such behaviour and drunk habit. After this arrest perhaps he has to be charged and remanded and thereafter convicted and jailed please, with RI for at least 25 years.
