The fuel distribution will be prioritized for filling stations that adopt the QR system.
The system will be monitored to check the number of users of QR from the stocks distributed to filling stations.
The ministry requested all Three Wheelers to register with respective police stations and to nominate the closest filling station to them.
The ministry has also requested the generator users, garden equipment, machinery, and other equipment that require fuel, to register at the respective divisional Secretariats with the type of fuel required, weekly fuel requirement, and the choice of the filling station.
Businesses with larger fleet of vehicles can register all the vehicles with their Business Registration Number.
Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depots will also facilitate the Diesel requirement of School Service Vehicles, Office Transport Vehicles, Industries, Tourism Sector, Ambulances, and other essential services verified by the authorities.
Public transport will be given a priority. The fuel quota for buses will be allocated at (SLTB) depots with the quota decided by the route permit and the distance in km in service.
The police department will be given an allocated quota from selected fuel stations in each police division and will be communicated accordingly.
Therefore, the ministry requested the public not to throng the filling stations on Monday itself; the whole week is available to get the allocated quota from filling stations across the county. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
