Opposition raises gas cylinder explosions in Parliament

The Opposition today brought to the notice of the Government the incidents of domestic cooking gas cylinder explosions.

SJB MP Hesha Vithanage said the Government should look into these incidents which leave the people’s lives in danger.

He said the Government Analyst has said in his report that these explosions had been caused due to change in compositions.

“The domestic gas cylinders that people purchase after languishing in long queues for hours are now exploding. It is not an allegation made by the opposition. The Government Analyst’s report has revealed that the explosions have been caused due to change in composition. Please look into this,” he said.(Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

These explosion and shortage are pre-planned, either to close down the litro or take over. May be a strong politician is planning to start a Gas company.

I propose a simple test to verify the safety of using these Gas Cylinders. Put 3 Litro Gas Cylinders and 3 Laugfs gas Cylinders into an enclosed room. Then Invite the Minister in charge, Bandula Gunawardena along with the 2 Chairmen of Laugfs and Litro and also the Government Analyst and invite them to occupy the room for 12 hours and after 12 hours for one of them to light a Cigarette! I bet you none of the 4 gentlemen will take part in this challenge/test.
