Ahead of the planned series of protests in Colombo and other areas tomorrow (9), US ambassador Julie Chung has requested protesters to engage with protests peacefully.

“Violence is not an answer, If you are going to protest, please do so peacefully,” she tweeted.

She also reminded the military & police to grant peaceful protesters the space & security to do so.

"Violence is not an answer, If you are going to protest, please do so peacefully. And reminding the military & police to grant peaceful protesters the space & security to do so. Chaos & force will not fix the economy or bring the political stability that Sri Lankans need right now" the US Ambassador tweeted.

Testing the patience of the security forces who are compelled to carry out their duties whether they like it or not, is not acceptable! We protested peacefully before aswell and rajapaksa goons attacked us. We protested peacefully before and we got landed with a joker like ranil. These bastard rajapaksas and ranil should be dragged out on the streets for thier crimes which the normal people have to suffer. If this bastard gota had left in march/april, we would not have been in such a situation right now.
