SLPP youth wing to vote for Ranil to presidency
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) youth wing unanimously decided to vote for acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe to nominate him as the successor to the president.
Its executive committe representative, Heamantha Sri Lal, today said the decision was taken by the executive committee that gathered yesterday.
He said that the central committee had decided to propose the acting President as the person who could overcome this current economic situation and other issues in the country other than former Premier Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He also appealed to the people of the country to accept the acting President after he would be appointed as the President tomorrow, as he was the only person to provide solutions for the current issues in the country and as he was the only person who had a clear vision and wide experience.
