Renowned Sri Lankan musician Mahesh Balasooriya, an accomplished pianist, composer, and arranger, is set to perform at Amari Colombo Hotel on 12th and 13th December 2024. Mahesh, born and raised in Los Angeles, California, is known for his versatility across multiple genres of music. The son of Sri Lankan immigrants, Mahesh’s musical journey began at the age of six when he first played the piano, later mastering various instruments under the mentorship of his accomplished father. Over the years, he has performed with music legends such as Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, James Brown, and toured with Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. He has also played for President Bill Clinton and at prestigious venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Disney Hall, and the Prague Symphony Hall.

A distinctive feature of Mahesh’s music is the fusion of jazz, classical, and Sri Lankan influences. His celebrated collaboration with Sri Lanka’s iconic Pandit Amaradeva stands as a testament to his passion for blending global and local musical traditions.
