The George Keyt Foundation, recently hosted a prestigious fundraising dinner and art auction conducted by Sotheby’s marking a historic moment for Sri Lankan art. Featuring works from the renowned ‘43 Group and contemporary talents, the event celebrated the nation’s artistic heritage and its global significance. Prior to the auction, panel discussions explored the evolution of Sri Lankan art, with notable speakers including Channa Daswatte, Anoma Wijewardene, Durjoy Rahman, and Ishrat Kanga, Co-Worldwide Head of Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art at Sotheby’s. This landmark auction offered a curated selection of innovative artworks, bridging local culture with universal artistic narratives.
