Mahavihara Vanshika Sri Kalyani Samagri Maha Sangha Sabhawa which consists of nearly 700 temples, 3,000 monks, has appointed Milinda Moragoda as the Chairman of their Sanrakshana Sabhawa.
The Most Venerable Itthepana Dhammalankara Mahanayake Thera formally presented Mr. Moragoda with the letter of appointment in the presence of Anunayake Ven. Prof. Kotupitiye Rahula Thera and other Senior Buddhist Clergy during the formal meeting of the Sangha Sabhawa within the precincts of the historical Uposhatharamaya at the Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya.
Mahavihara Vanshika Sri Kalyani Samagri Maha Sangha Sabhawa founded in 1855 when its first ordination ceremony was held on the banks of the Kelaniya River. Many illustrious and erudite monks including the late Ven Bellanvila Wimalarathana and the late Maduluwawe Sobitha were members of this Chapter.
