Milinda Moragoda presented first copies of ‘Ashoka Vadana’ to Mahanayake Theras



Milinda Moragoda presented the first copies of ‘Ashoka Vadana’ to the Mahanayake Theras of the Malwatta, Asgiriya, and Ramanna Nikayas in Kandy. The book contains selected articles from his newspaper column of the same name that ran during Moragoda’s tenure as High Commissioner to India. The purpose of the column was to present the experience of India in the realms of economics, science, society, and politics placed within the context of Sri Lanka.   


Photos show copies of the book being presented to the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sumangala Nayaka Thera Mahanayaka of the Malwathu Chapter, to the Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera, Mahanayaka of the Asgiri Chapter, and to the Most Venerable Makkulawe Wimala Thera, Mahanayaka of the Ramanna Maha Nikaya. R A D Sirisena, General Secretary of the Urumayake Ulpatha, and Sampath Ramukkanage were present at the event. A Tamil translation of the Ashoka Vadana column was also carried concurrently in the Sunday Thinakaran during this period. The Tamil version of this selection of articles will be published shortly.
