A Ballerina’s Tale Students’ ballet concert



  • A Ballerina’s Tale” at the BMICH Main Hall on 29th February 2020

The students of the Russian School of Ballet and Dancing will be showcasing their talents in this year’s concert “A Ballerina’s Tale” at the BMICH Main Hall on 29th February 2020.  

Celebrating 19 years since its inception, the Russian School of Ballet currently houses 850 aspiring ballerinas under the guidance of 9 ballet instructors namely, Galina, Samantha, Niluka, Radeesha, Lasni, Sadani, Kavishka, Shenaalie and Samindi accredited and guided by the Moscow State Academy of Choreography under the patronage of Oxana Karnovich.  

The concert will showcase ballerinas starting from age 3 onwards. The evening is a fusion of classic and modern Russian dance and music elements such as traditional Russian dances, Waltz, Nutcracker, Polka, Beryozka, Doga Waltz, Folk Dances, Tarantella, Baba Yetu, Semionova Ballet, Rainbow Ballerinas, Waltz of Flowers, Sugar Plum Fairy (Modern) Peacock Dance (ballet), Swan Lake Waltz, Spring Waltz, The Queens’, The Dream, Polka Dance, Snow White (Russian Ballet), Sleeping Beauty Waltz, Princesses Ballet Dance, Waltz of flowers, Swans, Spanish Dance and more.

  

The concert is organized under the guidance of Anastasia Khokhlova, 1st Secretary of the Embassy of Russian Federation / The Director of the Russian Centre in Colombo, Mr Buddhapriya Ramanayake CEO and Mrs Chandi Aluvihare Cultural Officer as the founders of The Russian School of Ballet and Dancing in Sri Lanka.
