An almsgiving in memory of Mr. Gilbert Dalpathadu

An alms giving was conducted recently in memory of Mr. Gilbert Dalpathadu who passed away, over seven year ago. This Alms Giving was organized by his three children namely, Dr. Gayan attached to the Family Health Bureau of the General Hospital Colombo, Rashan a Senior Banker at the Commercial Bank at Alutgama and Dilmini a graduate teacher at Vishaka Vidyalaya, Colombo.

This alms giving was conducted under the patronage of Ven Tantirimulle Sarana Thero the chief incumbent of the Sri Parama Vishuddaramaya Gangula, Panadura, at the residence of Rashan in Gangula Panadura. Only a few of the close relatives were invited to the Alms giving in view of the unsettled conditions in the country.

Mr Dalpathadu, Gilbert Aiya to us all, was a descendent from the famed “Thandales” of Kalutara spent all his school days in Alutgama and Beruwala and was educated at Alutgama Vidyalaya under famed educationist Mr. Douglas F. Goonawardane. He joined the Sri Lanka Railways, then known as Ceylon Government Railway (CGR) and was a senior administrator in the chief Mechanical Engineer’s Dept. at the time of his retirement. He was a family man, always helpful to his relatives and friends and lived a peaceful life according to Buddhist teachings.
May he achieve the Supreme bliss of Nirvana.
Inserted on behalf of all his relatives and friends by
 Sumathi Fernando Panadura
