The Duo Exhibition of Paintings which will be on August 3 and 4 in Colombo, will feature paintings by Sri Lanka’s renowned artist and sculptor Raja Segar and young artist Nisansala Karunaratne Rajapaksa. The Duo Exhibition will be held on August 3 and 4 at the Lionel Wendt Gallery, Colombo 7 from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. Two renowned artists with different mother tongues; ethnicity; gender and it’s entirely two different styles, yet one thing in common - creative vision.

Rajar Segar is one of Sri Lanka’s finest contemporary artists and sculptors. He has exhibited in many countries and has brought himself global recognition. Segar is a self-tutored artist, who started designing his own greeting cards based on the day-to-day lifestyle of Sri Lankans. After that Segar has started experimenting on the refractive effect of light in his abstract and cubism paintings, which made a serious impact on his creations.

Currently Segar is a living legend, who loves to work in watercolour, oil and mixed media. He had exhibitions in Australia, England, India, South Korea, Nepal, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia and in Sri Lanka. Further he had represented Sri Lanka at the Cultural Summit of Abu Dhabi in 2017 and 2019; featured in several international magazines including the Readers’ Digest. During his 19th solo exhibition in Colombo, he had donated the sales proceeds to the Neurosurgery Trust Fund of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

Nisansala K. Rajapaksa is a renowned contemporary artist as well as a Creative Director. She has been in the creative field ever since her younger days.

Having received the BFA from California State University, San Jose in Photography and Graphic Design she completed her M.A. in Buddhist Studies from Kelaniya University.
