Josophian Chrismas Carols 2022
The Annual Josephian Christmas Carols are set to enchant on December 3 at the Stanley Abeysekara Sports Complex Auditorium, presented by the St Cecilia’s Choir of St Joseph’s College, Colombo 10. This year’s theme, Jesu Salvator Mundi, translates to Saviour of the World.
The College Choir, comprising 90 talented members, will weave a magical tapestry of carol songs in English, Sinhala, Tamil, and Latin. As is customary, this choral presentation promises to evoke happiness and joy for all in attendance.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Anton Ranjith, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Christmas, a time to celebrate one of the Bible’s most remarkable miracles, invites us to reflect on the birth of Jesus and the profound message of hope and love he brings. It provides an opportunity to pause and express gratitude for the love, hope, and joy embodied in Jesus, our Saviour and friend. The true joy of Christmas is realized when we center the season around our Saviour.
A remarkable aspect of carols is their universality, transcending cultural, ethnic, and religious boundaries. May the spirit of Christmas envelop you in peace, the gladness of Christmas ignite hope, the warmth of Christmas fill you with love, and the celebrations immerse you in joy.
