Public Security Minister Rear Admiral Dr Sarath Weerasekera met with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai at the World Police Summit on March 14.
Minister Weerasekera also met with INTERPOL President Dr. Ahamed Naser Al-Raisi, Dubai Police Commander in Chief Lt. Gen. Abdullah Al Marri, and chiefs of police who gathered at the World Police Summit Forum in Dubai.
The annual gathering of police chiefs discuss law enforcement cooperation, collaboration, and partnership to fight crime, terrorism and other threats. The World Police Summit Forum is the leading global platform to upgrade the standards in policing.
Minister Weerasekera was invited by the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. Gen. His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Since December 2021, Sri Lanka - UAE law enforcement cooperation was enhanced with several visits.
