‘SEEDS’ is a Sri Lankan movie inspired by real-life events featuring the war crimes, which took place in Mannar 475 years back during the rule of King Sangiliyan of Jaffna. This untold story was uncovered after being inspired by the Easter Attack and the corrupted outlines behind the horrendous bloodshed.

The movie is centered on the brutal events that the Catholic and Hindu people faced due to the corrupt political agendas played by the leading rulers of the region. Showcasing how both religions were utilised as a weapon of chaos causing mass amount of deaths and horror to the community the movie highlights one of the worst wars in the history of Ceylon.

This film is a pure propaganda against the Jaffna Tamils. The entire Tamils of Sri Lanka were Hindus when the Portuguese attacked Sri Lanka and took over Mannar as their first conquest in the Tamil region of Sri Lanka. Portuguese killed hundreds of Tamils and almost all the Hindu temples in Mannar were burnt down. When the Tamil King of Jaffna heard about the massacres of Tamils at the hands of the White invaders and the destruction of the Mannar Hindu Temples he was shocked and enraged. Quickly he assembled an expeditionary assault force and sent them to confront the Portuguese. But by the time the Tamil force arrived in Mannar the Portuguese forces had fled into the neighbouring jungles and left the defence of Mannar at the hands of the Tamils who have already been converted to Catholicism. It was believed these converted Catholics of Mannar played an active part as “path finders” to the Portuguese forces in attacking the Hindus and their temples.In the ensuring fight Tamils won

To all those who are complaining that this movie is anti-Hindu propaganda, I need to ask you; Why are you surprised? Movie is done by a bunch of Sinhalese! You honestly expect historical accuracy? Remember, Sinhalese still believe is the fairy tale called 'Mahawamsa'. They also believe no war crimes were committed by the GoSL in fight a against the LTTE. So you are being foolish if you expected historical accuracy from a bunch of Sinhalese.

If Portuguese never came there would be no Catholic in Sri Lanka. Catholic have as part of their religion to spread their religion. No point attacking present day Catholics because their ancestors converted. You think you'll find a better after life that way?

This movie is another propaganda to show Tamils as warmongers. Sinhala Buddhists used every single opportunity to portray this picture. Remember, they called the massacre of hundreds of thousands in 2009 as “humanitarian rescue mission”. They are very capable of manipulating.
