STC Western Band presents ‘Musica Perpetua - Christmas Edition’

The Western Band of S.Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia is returning with their sixth concert ‘Musica Perpetua - Christmas Edition’ on December 20 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre from 7.00pm onwards after a break of two years.


Unlike other school Western bands, the Thomian Band is more than just a marching band that sticks with a few songs in their repertoire. The audience can expect a wide variety of music at the concert.


This concert is dedicated to Mr. Manilal Weerakoon who was the trainer of the band for a long time and the person who directed the band for a very long period. 


After a break of 2 years for covid, the bandsmen have worked very hard and expect to make it a memorable night for everyone! 


The Western Band members  extended their special thanks to former Teacher-in-charge Mrs. Dilumika Ratnayake, former director, Mr. Manilal Weerakon, the new Master-in-charge Mr. Nilhan Warshamanage, the current director Mr. Vidhurinda Samaraweera and especially, the Warden Rev’d Marc Billimoria and Sub Warden Asanka Perera as whose interest and encouragement led to the concert.


Tickets are priced at Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,500, Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,500, Rs. 1,000 (balcony) and the box plan are available at the Lionel Wendt theatre as well as all the band members.
