A function was held at Subodhi Institute of Integral Education in Wewala, Piliyandala – to bid farewell to its outgoing Director–Rev. Fr. Victor Silva and to welcome its new Director –Rev. Fr. Lawrence Ramanayaka – on October 7 at Rev.(Dr.) Mervyn Fernando Memorial Auditorium.   
The celebrations commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass to coincide with the 47th anniversary of Rev. (Dr.) Fr. Victor Silva and some of his batch mates, including Rev. Fr. Filician Ranjith Perera, Rev. Fr. Basil Wickramasingha and Rev. Fr. Jayalath Balagalla, who concelebrated, the ceremony was presided over by the Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, which was organized by the Youth Club of Subodhi Institute with items of entertainment like dances and singing of songs by members of youth club.   
This programme was attended by nearly 100 people which consisted of Rev. fathers, Rev. sisters, well wishes and benefactors of Subodhi Institute, Subodhi staff members both past and present and also girls and boys of Subodhi Youth Club.
