THE MUCH AWAITED CHORAL EVENT CROSS AND GLORY



 

  • The ‘Colombo Chorale‘ will render choral music bringing to life the last days of Jesus, from His entry into Jerusalem unto His resurrection
  • Open to all who cherish the values of elegant sacred music in Sinhala, Tamil, English, Latin, Hebrew and Italian and is free of charge

 

A magnificent choral presentation commemorating the events of the Holy Week will take place on Sunday April 3 at the vast Fatima Church, Maradana, Colombo at 6.30 pm.
Held under the patronage of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dilan Perera and sponsored by Bharatha Cultural Fellowship, the newly formed choir ‘Colombo Chorale’, will render great chants, hymns and choruses with utmost elegance. This formidable choir will include, past/senior singers of St. Joseph’s College, Good Shepherd Convent, St. Benedict’s College, St. Lawrence’s Convent and Holy Family Convent and are under the guidance of choral director Francis D’Almeida.


The ‘Colombo Chorale‘ will render choral music bringing to life the last days of Jesus, from His entry into Jerusalem unto His resurrection.
The Bharatha Cultural Fellowship that includes Sri Lanka’s top notch musicians strive to provide scholarship funds to needy school children studying in Catholic schools, as well as to help poor people in dire need.


The newly established youth choir bearing the name ‘Colombo Chorale’ as part of the Magnificat Institute of Choral Music will endeavour to help youth develop spiritually and culturally.
The invitation is open to all who cherish the values of elegant sacred music in Sinhala, Tamil, English, Latin, Hebrew and Italian and is free of charge.
