Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatta Chapter with the consent of the Karaka Sangha Sabha has appointed Ven.Welamitiyawe Gnanaratana Thera, Director and Parivenadipathy of Vidyalankara Maha Piruvena, as Chief Sangha Nayake of Colombo and Chilaw areas with the honourary title of ‘Thripitaka Vagisvaracharya Dharma Keerthi Sri’. The ‘sannasa’ (act of appointment) was presented to him at the historical ‘Uposathagaraya’ of Malwatte Maha Viharaya recently.

Please open up your temples and pray for blessings of food, fuel, US dollars etc to prove that the money that can be used to buy food for our children which is diverted to subsidize your food, luxury cars and luxury life style is not goinng down the drain but is actually benefiting us and our land
