The Jathika Jana Balawegaya (SJB) today organized a protest against the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution in front of the statue of late Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera. SJB MPs including its leader Sajith Premadasa and a group of supporters participated in the event.
A group of school children were seen taking a boat from Battaramulla to reach their schools in Wellawatta. The boat service which was launched by the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation (SLLDC) in collaboration with the SL Navy is popular among the school children. The fee for the boat ride from Battaramulla to Wellawatta is Rs.100 per person.
