Whilst alleging that there have been irregularities with regard to the second preference vote count at the Presidential Elections 2024, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) today said legal action will be taken if the necessity arises.
Chairman of the Elections Commission R.L.A.M. Ratnayake announced the decision to go for a second preference count as none of the candidates had obtained the 50 percent plus one vote at the Presidential election this year as per the Presidential Elections Act of 1981.
