Accomplice of ‘Pookutu Kanna’ arrested with drugs, Rs.1Mn cash

A close associate of underworld figure ‘Pookutu Kanna’ had been arrested with drugs and over Rs. 1 million in cash by the STF at Modara Uyana in Grandpass, Colombo.   

Police said the suspect had been handling drug trafficking and underworld activities of Pookutu Kanna.   

The STF recovered 27 grams of heroin, 8 grams of Ice, two gold chains with three pendants, one sword, a kris knife a nunchaku and three mobile phones from the suspect’s possession.   

The suspect was handed over to the Grandpass Police for further investigations. 

 
Meanwhile, the Kiribathgoda Police have arrested a 37-year-old suspect with 213 grams of heroin in a house at Gonawala in Kelaniya.   

In addition, another suspect was also arrested in Ganemulla for possession of 150 grams of heroin.
