Australia gifted maritime patrol Beechcraft to arrive in SL today

The Beechcraft KA350 of the Royal Australian Air Force, which was gifted to Sri Lanka, is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today, a Defence official confirmed yesterday.

The Australian Government officially gifted the aircraft to Sri Lanka some time ago.

The Beechcraft KA350 King Air, a modern twin-engine turboprop aircraft, holds immense value in bolstering Sri Lanka’s capacity to safeguard its maritime security and will enhance the Sri Lanka Air Force’s capabilities aimed at augmenting ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) capabilities and training opportunities.

The official ceremony to hand over the aircraft to the Sri Lanka Air Force will take place soon, the official confirmed.
