CDS discusses security measures with Prime Minister

In the wake of potential security threats facing tourists in Arugam Bay, Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva met with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister’s office.   
The discussion centred on the national security situation and the readiness of the armed forces to tackle these challenges.   
General Silva highlighted key issues and emphasized the crucial role of the Armed Forces in maintaining security and their preparedness to respond effectively.   
The meeting included a cordial and productive exchange, during which the CDS provided a detailed briefing on his roles and responsibilities.   
Concluding the visit, General Silva presented a memento to the Prime Minister as a gesture of tradition and respect, marking his first visit to her office.
