The balance of the ‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund has surpassed Rs.1,659 million following deposits made by corporates and individuals, the President’s Media Division said.
It said the Prime Minister’s Office donated Rs.82,906.97, young R.G.I. Sithumini Bandara Rs.6,000, The Gampaha District Samurdhi Officers’ Welfare Association Rs.100,000 and the Bank of Ceylon Pensioners’ Association Rs. 2,500,000 to the Fund.
These donations have been handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Two young boys Chad and Jade, who live in Melbourne, Australia, have donated Rs.207,851.16 to the fund and their father handed over the donation to President Rajapaksa.
Ven. Embilipitiye Thejosara Thera donated Rs. 5,000 to the fund while the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka donated Rs. 4,500,000 and Hettigoda Industries Pvt. Ltd. Rs. 5,000,000.
