Galle Jailer threatened with death by gangster in Dubai

A Jailer working in the Galle prisons had been threatened with death allegedly by a underworld gangster hiding in Dubai.  

He told police that an individual who called him over the phone threatened him with death and that he would be shot in the head. During preliminary investigations carried by the senior officials the phone and the SIM card used to threaten the jailer had been recovered from a prisoner.  

Under interrogation he admitted that he had threatened the jailor with death at the instigation of an underworld gangster hiding in Dubai at present.CI Lalith Silva of the Galle police is conducting further investigations on the instructions of SSP Kelum Tilakaratne.
