Investigations revealed that a 41 year old suspect, a resident of Dodamwala in Kandy. arrested by the Police Anti-Narcotics Bureau in Kandy for having in his possession 10.200 grams of ICE, was an HIV infected patient.
He told police that he was arrested earlier in connection with a similar offence by Kegalle police. 
A senior official of the Anti-Narcotic Bureau responsible for the arrest said Kegalle police confirmed that the suspect was subject to a medical test and was confirmed to be HIV positive.   
He was produced in court yesterday afternoon and remanded till August 2 and admitted to the Prison hospital.
