Wildlife Conservation Department announced that no deaths of hill country leopards had not been reported from Hagala Wildlife Range for the last year.
A senior official of the department said the Range Wildlife Office covering Thalawakele, Kotmale and Walapane divisions in a land area of 95,000 hectared had implemented an effective plan to protect the hill country leopards roaming into the human habitats and to save the people from any possible danger from them.
He said it included 22 public awareness programmes, search operations to remove 320 wire traps to catch wild animals,
